LPG Prices Surge in Pakistan: OGRA Issues Notification for Price Hike
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced an increase in the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), leaving households bracing for a slightly heavier burden on their budgets. According to the official notification, the price of LPG has been raised by 54 paisa per kilogram, pushing the new rate to 248 rupees and 37 paisa per kg.
Domestic Cylinder Prices Take a Hit
For those relying on LPG for their daily cooking needs, this hike translates to a noticeable jump in the cost of domestic cylinders. The price of an 11.8 kg LPG household cylinder has gone up by 6 rupees and 40 paisa. As a result, the new price for an 11.8 kg cylinder is now set at 2,930 rupees and 71 paisa.
Effective Date of the Price Increase
The revised prices will come into effect starting tomorrow, April 1, 2025. This means families across the country will feel the pinch as they refill their cylinders in the coming days.
What This Means for Households
While the increase might seem small at first glance, it adds up for those who depend on LPG as their primary fuel source. With Eid celebrations around the corner, this hike could put a slight damper on festive preparations for many. OGRA’s decision reflects the fluctuating costs in the global market, but for now, it’s the everyday consumer who will need to adjust to this change.
